One dead and 30 injured in Singapore Airlines turbulence horror

A Singapore Airlines plane flying from London to Singapore encountered severe turbulence due to bad weather. As a result of this turbulence, one passenger died and several others were injured. The Singapore Airlines plane was reportedly flying at an altitude of 37,000 feet (11,300 meters). Shortly after 8 a.m. GMT, the Boeing 777 quickly and abruptly descended to 31,000 feet (9,400 meters) in three minutes. The aircraft remained at 31,000 feet for less than 10 minutes before rapidly descending. Due to heavy turbulence, the flight had to land at Suvarnabhumi Airport in Bangkok at 3:45 p.m. local time. Rescue workers from Samitivej Srinakarin Hospital rushed to the spot, rescued the injured passengers and took them for treatment. Thai immigration police said medical personnel boarded the plane to assess the condition of the injured. However, she could not confirm the number of passengers and said several passengers were able to exit the plane unharmed. The names of the deceased passengers were not released.

Shortly after news of the disruption made headlines, many people began sharing photos from inside the plane and from Suvarnabhumi Airport. Images in posts can be disturbing, so viewers are advised to exercise caution. Singapore Airlines confirmed the incident in a Facebook post. They said in a statement: “We can confirm that one person was injured and one person was killed on board the Boeing 777-300ER. There were 211 passengers and 18 crew members on board. Our priority is to board the plane. We are working.” With this aircraft we are sending a team to the local authorities in Thailand to provide necessary medical assistance and provide additional assistance.
