Former US president Donald Trump was arrested on Tuesday evening at the federal courthouse in Miami, Florida in connection to a secret document case. He unlawfully kept national security documents at his office, later recovered by the officials.
This was the second courtroom visit for former American president Donald Trump. In April he has not pleaded guilty in a sexual harassment case. Trump is heading for November 2024 elections and aiming to be back to the presidency.
Trump proclaimed his innocence. The hearing was closed to live broadcasts. Trump claimed that the special counsel Jack Smith is a “Trump Hater”.
Donald Trump was released in less than an hour of his arrest. He was restricted by travel conditions. Trump later went to Cuban restaurant, Safe Versailles at Little Havana along with his followers and said, “It is a rigged deal here. We have a rigged country”. He also claimed that the United States was “rigged”, “corrupt”, and “in decline”.
This is the first time ever in the history of the United States of America that a former president is being arrested or booked with federal crimes. Trump has returned to New Jersey and is expected to hold a press meet on Wednesday.
