The Border Security Force (BSF) has detected a cross-border tunnel along the international border of India and Pakistan in Jammu and Kashmir's Samba district. They have disrupted the plans of a Pakistan-based terrorism agency before the Amarnath Yatra. The issue raised a high alert in the region of Jammu. The tunnel was 150 metres long and was detected under the Chak Faquira border outpost in the Samba district on the evening of Wednesday. The tunnel was dug recently and it originated from the side of Pakistan. 21 sandbags were recovered and the tunnel was about 2 feet.
The BSF officials will search the tunnel in detail. Two suicide bombers were gunned down recently after they attacked the CISF bus recently. The initial investigation told that the suicide bombers used the tunnel to enter into India and they belonged to Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) terror group from Pakistan. The tunnel was 900 metres from the Indian side. Inspector General of BSF Jammu Frontier, DK Boora appreciated the efforts of the BSF forces. The BSF staged a massive drive to locate or detect the tunnels across the border after April 22nd encounter. Last year, there were two tunnels detected in the Hiranagar sector in Kathua district.
