Dr Reddy’s laboratory has announced that it has launched in the US Sodium Nitroprusside injection which is used for the immediate reduction in the blood pressure in hypertensive crisis.
Generic Sodium Nitroprusside injection, 50 mg/s ml (25 mg/ml) single-dose vial was launched by the company after getting approved from the United States Food and Drug administration (USFDA), said Dr Reddy’s Labs in a filing to the BSE.
It also added saying that the product is the generic version of Hospira Inc’s Nitropress injection, 50 mg/2ml, it added.
According to IQVIA Health data, the US sales for the Nitropress brand and generics was around USD 8 million MAT for the twelve months to October 2019, said Dr Reddy’s.
The injection, Sodium Nityroprusside is indicated for the immediate reduction of blood pressure in adults and pediatric patients in hypertensive crises.
