A man is facing murder charges after his grandparents were found dead in their home in the Walton County. Sheriff’s officials said that, Andrew Bryant, aged 46, was taken into custody by the Greene County deputies on Wednesday after an unrelated traffic chase, which began in Greene and ended in the Taliaferro County.
Sheriff Joe Chapman said that Bryant had lived in the basement of his grandparents home for about a year after his divorce. He said the deputies were called to the house by the Bryants son after he had a conversation with Andrew Bryant, which made the son concerned for the grandparents safety.
By the time deputies arrived, they found the bodies of Charles and Betty Bryant and Andrew Bryant was already left.
"You hear about this sort of thing in Atlanta, not here. We just don't expect it,” Chapman said.
The Walton County sheriff would not detail the exchange between Andrew Bryant and his uncle, but the Bryants bodies were found in their home, and hours later, just before the midnight, Andrew Bryant was captured by the police
Neighbor Mike Higgins said that, "I don't know what this world is coming to. Nobody has any heart."
Chapman said that Andrew Bryant is being held in the Walton County Jail on two charges of murder. More charges could be coming on to him.
The sheriff's office and the Georgia Bureau of Investigation are investigating the case of double homicide.
