4th confirmed tornado, moved through metro Atlanta!

The National Weather Service says that four tornadoes touched down on Wednesday, leaving a trail of damages in metro Atlanta and north Georgia.

Brad Nitz , Severe Weather Team 2 Meteorologist said that a confirmed EF-1 tornado southwest of Atlanta was 3/4 mile long and about 100 yards long. The twister had 100 mph winds.

An EF-0 tornado had been confirmed in Alpharetta near Windward Parkway and the Big Creek area.  

A third tornado, an EF-1, had been confirmed in Buckhead. The fourth one had been confirmed in Commerce.

Storms on Wednesday damaged their paths and in metro Atlanta roadways.

Temple in Carroll County witnessed the damage first, along with the storm moving through Haralson and Paulding counties . The Six Flags area in Cobb County had also seen damage, as well as through Vinings and into the center of Buckhead.

Johns Creek, Cumming and Buford areas saw the damages.Thousands of customers were without power on Wednesday night. Power has since been restored to most customers.

Cobb County businesses were without power for hours as crews had been working for more than 8 hours to restore it.

In Mableton, “swirling winds” pulled down stoplights and knocked a tree onto a gas station.
