A missing South Carolina woman was found “chained up like a dog” in a shipping container in rural South Carolina, the police said. The 30 year old Kala Brown was missing since August.

The police discovered the woman inside a padlocked metal container after they heard a banging sound when they arrived with a search warrant at a property in the town of Woodruff.

According to the media, the police arrested the owner of the property, Todd Kohlhepp, a registered sex offender.

Spartanburg County Sheriff Chuck Wright, said that, "It was pretty emotional, to say the least, when she was found. Especially, you know, when she was chained like a dog."

"She had a chain around her neck. It's only by God's grace we found that little girl alive," Wright added. Brown shouted "Help me! Get me out of here!", Wright said.

Victim Brown said to authorities, she had been in the locked in the container for two months.
