A student had been shot outside Mays High School after a football game. Atlanta Public Schools officials have confirmed the shooting.
The incident occurred in the parking lot of Mays High School on Friday evening.
In a statement, school officials said that the student had just returned to school from a football game at the Georgia Dome when a car entered the parking lot and shots were fired. Officials informed that the student was struck by a bullet. The child was allegedly alert and was taken to Grady hospital, where the student has been listed in good condition.
No further details were made available. Schools official informed that as a precaution, they have been planning to have extra security on-site when the school opens on Monday.

It has been learned from Atlanta Public School System Police Department that a 17 years old female student had been shot during the incident that happened next to Benjamin E. Mays High School.
