The official confirmed that, the Meriwether County woman, Dorothy Dow who was severely beaten and burned in a home invasion has died at 83.
The Channel 2 Action News reported, Meriwether County Deputy Coroner Leonard Wigley Jr. said that, Dow died at Grady Memorial Hospital.
According to the Meriwether County Sheriff Chuck Smith, she was injured after several people demanded money from her after they entered her Grantville house August 4. The break-in occurred between 11 p.m. and midnight.
“She pleaded with them that she did not have any money,” Smith said.
Beth Dow, the victim’s daughter-in-law, said Dorothy Dow remembered she had a gallon of water that she used to fill her breathing machine.
“With those broken hands, she took the top off the gallon of water and poured it on her head and put out the flames,” Beth Dow said.
Justin Pierce Grady, 38, Shanquavious Keontrell Cameron, 17, Cortavious Deshun Heard, 18, Angel Latrice Harmon, 17, and Mina Christine Ellery, 17 are facing multiple charges in connection with the incident.
