The gun man who killed three police officers in Baton Rouge was student of the Clark Atlanta University for a short time.
The shooting suspect Gavin Long was shot and killed two police officers, a sheriff's deputy and injured three others on Sunday, July 17 at Baton Rouge.
According to the Clark Atlanta University, Gavin Long was briefly enrolled in classes during the 2012-2013 school year. University of Alabama spokesman Chris Bryant said that, Long also attended the University of Alabama for one semester, in the spring of 2012.
A University statement said that, “Clark Atlanta University mourns the tragic deaths of three police officers in Baton Rouge, La., on Sunday, July 17. Our prayers are with the families and communities in Baton Rouge and Dallas who have suffered tremendous loss, as well as those who were seriously injured.We also continue to grieve for the families of Alton Sterling in Baton Rouge, Philando Castile in Minneapolis, and all who have suffered because of violence.”
“Records indicate that suspected shooter Gavin Eugene Long was briefly enrolled in Clark Atlanta University during the 2012-13 academic year. The University categorically denounces this heinous act as it transgresses the institution’s core values and the very underpinnings of our institutional mission," it added.
