The Qatar Airways launched the new Atlanta-Doha route on June 1. The CEO of carrier said that, they have been received strong response for the move.
On the other hand, last month, Delta Air Lines’ incoming president Glen Hauenstein said that, the Atlanta-to-Doha market has fewer than five people a day traveling between the two cities. “We don’t think they’ll be successful,” Hauenstein said.
However, Akbar Al Baker, the CEO of Qatar Airways said in a press conference, that, flights on the new route launching next month are more than 70 percent full.
“When you want to grow an airline, you have to have the guts.” “We have a superior product and people are craving for an airline to come here” to give them the type of service Qatar Airways provides, Al Baker said.
