J. Randy Jackson, the head of the Kia manufacturing plant in west Georgia died on a business trip. He was in his late 50s and may have suffered a heart attack while on board a plane at the Seattle airport. Jackson was serving as the company vice president for last one decade.
Former West Point Mayor, Drew Ferguson, said that,“This is obviously a tough time for us all.” “We’re going to have to pull together to get through this transition.”
“We will miss him,” the ex-governor said of Jackson in a written statement, “but his legacy will continue to live on as long as Kia is building cars and employing Georgians.”
Jackson was born in Macon and moved to Jones County with his family when he was around 9 year old. He completed his graduation from Jonesco Academy in 1975 and earned a degree in industrial psychology at the University of Georgia.
