An former employee of MIC, a public sector company, was arrested for the theft of a source code of patented property. The software employee, MNS Srinivas, stole the information on a patented software with the intention to provide it to other private companies.

It was found that he shared the source code with a Bangalore-based private company. The owner of the patented software, MIC, is located in Kushaiguda, Hyderabad, reported Times of India.

In a press release from the Crime Investigation Department (CID), it was reported that another thief, who was arrested earlier in August this year, coughed up the name of the accused. B Venkat Ramana, a former general manager of MIC, is the prime accused in the crime. It was he who confessed Srinivas's involvement in the case.

MIC managing director filed a complaint in July, reporting that GG Tronics Private Ltd in Bangalore was preparing to supply true colour LED video display board, which is MIC's patented product.

TOI quoted additional director-general of police (CID) T Krishna Prasad as saying, "Further investigation revealed that Venkata Ramana and Srinivas along with some other employees conspired and stole the source code and process from the MIC and started developing the same by translating from VC++ to .NET after leaving MIC,”
