As the dawn breaks to the drones of special Eid Namaz and Muslims across the country bid adieu to the holy month of Ramadan and usher in Eid-Ul-Fitr with great zeal, good faith and finger-licking food, the air outside is nothing less than electrifying. Scores of Muslims gathered in their nearest mosques to offer special prayers.
The ninth month in the Islamic calendar is deemed auspicious by the Muslims across the globe. It's believed that the first revelation dawned upon Prophet Mohammed during this month. To observe this, all people of this faith observe a month-long fast and offer five times prayer a day to prove their truthfulness, sincerity, self-control, patience and human dignity and abstain from food, evil and unlawful practices.
Eid-ul-Fitr, which means 'festival of breaking the fast', therefore declaring an end to the fasting month of Ramadan.
After a long time, Eid-ul-Fitr fell on a Friday today, making the occasion twice as auspicious for all Muslims.
In the mean time, heavy security has been deployed in all Muslim pockets across the country to ensure peaceful celebrations.
