Pope John Paul II is all set to be canonized by this year's end! In a decision taken by a key Vatican panel, the Polish Pope might be granted sainthood soon.
A council of cardinals and bishops arrived at an unanimous decision to grant the beloved Pope the title of “saint” after they recognized his “second miracle”. The decision now awaits a papal signature.
The Blessed Pope, who served the Catholic Church from 1978-2005, is likely to be canonized on December 8, on the day of feast of the Immaculate Conception. Grapevine tells that John Paul the Great will be granted sainthood together with Pope John XXIII,who died in 1963.
During the funeral mass of the beloved Pope in 2005, the crowd broke into chants of “Santo Subito!” (sainthood now) at St. Peter's Square. Listening to the mass cry, the then Pope Benedict XVI waived off the five-year waiting period and ordered an immediate probe into the life of the Polish Pope.
On investigating, it was found that besides living a virtuous life, the Pope had miraculously healed a woman of her Parkinson's disease. The purported second miracle that was hailed just recently is yet under covers and will be revealed to us shortly.
