An elderly woman along with her daughter-in-law known to have been killed by a group of villagers in eastern India after charging the pair with a crime of practising witchcraft. Police in the eastern state of Jharkhand explained that a group of mainly female attackers beat the pair to death, subsequent to earlier deciding that they were responsible, through their suspected witchcraft due to the lately happening deaths of several children from illness.

It was further explained by the district police chief Rakesh Bansal on Thursday that a 70-year-old woman along her 42-year-old daughter-in-law were killed by a large number of village women, who charged with offense to the duo of practising witchcraft. Mr Bansal added that they have arrested 19 women from Karonda Jor village for accompanying in the killing.
