Court’s verdicts on Wakf lands have been allegedly worrying LANCO customers. In a recent verdict by the AP High Court, 108 acres of land in famous Manikonda area were declared as Wakf lands, which are meant for underdeveloped Muslim communities. Therefore, all those who invested in those lands are going to lose heavily. Therefore, the customers of LANCO Hills are said to be exerting too much pressure on the government.
A city based realtor said: "A few buyers were slated to make a bulk payment this week. But post the court ruling they have decided to hold onto their money till the state government and Wakf Board reach an amicable solution." A few others like Vinod Sahani (who owns a flat in Manikonda Hills) say: Lanco is big name and it cannot let its customers down. It is only a matter of time before things return to normalcy." It has to be mentioned here that Lanco Hills consist of as many as 840 apartments. Already 40 customers moved into their new houses. Some of buyers are worried that whether they would be handed over their flats on time keeping in view the legalities involved.
