The Electric Charges hike by the `Kiran Sarkar has attracted many controversies from the public on Monday across the state. Earlier the Electricity Regulation Commission seems to have given a green signal for enhancing the present charges per unit. The enhancement might bring in approximate revenue of Rs. 4442 Cr to the AP Electricity boards. This simply means that the enhancement is to a bigger extent and is attracting the ire of the common man.
Earlier the hike that was proposed in the Telugu Desam Party Era saw the erstwhile former Chief Minister N Chandra Babu Naidu descend the throne. Could this mean the same to Kiran Sarkar, only time will tell the truth? Earlier the left parties raised their voice against the hike. But the Chief Minister was bent upon going ahead with the recommendations. On one side the State is gripped with the partisan movement and has been stagnant over the Telangana agitation. Added to that the hike is sure to attract public dissent predict the critics.
The Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) on Monday voiced its concern over the steep hike in electricity tariff for industry in Andhra Pradesh. "The industry is unable to meet the minimum production demands due to frequent power cuts and power holidays. The hike in the power tariff will further lead to greater burden for the industry," said Suchitra Ella, Chairperson, CII Andhra Pradesh
