Under pressure to clarify his party’s stance on the issue of Telangana, TDP supremo Chandrababu Naidu held consultations with his party’s Telangana Forum leaders at his residence in Hyderabad this morning.
Some of the leaders have suggested to Naidu to resubmit the letter to the Centre, which was given to the Pranab Mukherjee committee in the past announcing support to the formation of Telangana state.
The leaders have suggested that resubmission the letter to the Centre will put more pressure on the Congress leadership in taking a quick decision on the demand for formation of Telangana state.
A section of the leaders told Naidu to send a letter to the Centre asking it to introduce the Telangana Bill in Parliament but there are doubts whether he will accept such a step.
The meeting also discussed the growing number of suicides in Telangana region and appealed to the Telangana youth and students not to resort to suicides. “Suicides are not the solution to the Telangana issue,” Naidu already said in a statement. (J)
