Even as thousands of pro-Telangana activists attended the funeral of Telangana martyr Bojya Naik at Warangal on Sunday, another Telangana youth Mr Rajamogili, an auto driver, immolated himself at Hanumakonda today seeking Telangana state.
Rajamogili, who hailed from Timmampet village in Jaffargad Mandalam of Warangal district, poured petrol on his body and lit the fire at Hanumakonda petrol bunk this afternoon raising Telangana slogans. He left a suicide note saying he was sacrificing his life for the sake of Telangana state.
The incident raised tempers across Telangana as it came with in two days of MBA student Bojya Naik committing suicide on Saturday.
Attacks on Congress, TDP leaders’ houses
During the funeral procession of Naik on Sunday in Warangal, hundreds of students attacked the houses of congress chief whip Gandra Venkataramana Reddy, TDP Rajya Sabha member Gundu Sudha Rani and Minister Ponnala Lakshmaiah with stones and chappals.
The agitators also garlanded the statues of late PM Rajiv Gandhi and late CM NTR with chappals. They also attacked the DCC office at Hanumakonda centre.
When Mr Pradeep Rao, brother of the TDP Telangana Forum leader Mr Errabilli Dayakara Rao came to console the family members of Bojya Naik, the agitators attacked him forcing him to retreat. (J)
