Congress candidates Chiranjeevi, Palwai Govardhan Reddy, Anand Bhaskar and Renuka Choudary and TDP candidates, CM Ramesh and Devendar Goud were today declared elected to the Rajya Sabha unopposed. With the deadline for withdrawal of nominations ending today, the six candidates were declared elected by the election commission officials as there are no other candidates in the fray for the biennial elections to the Rajya Sabha. The biennial elections are slated to be held on March 30 to fill the six vacancies in place of six sitting members who are retiring on April 2. Mega star Chiranjeevi will now have to quit the Tirupati seat paving the way for the by-poll there. (J)
