AP State capital Hyderabad will soon have a new police set up -Chief Police Commissionerate of Greater Hyderabad- which will function under the direction of Chief Commissioner of Police.
Disclosing this at a media conference on Tuesday in Hyderabad, DGP V. Dinesh Reddy said the Chief Commissioner of Police will have four commissioners of police representing Hyderabad, Hyderabad South, Secunderabad and Cyberabad working under him.
He said the present Hyderabad and Cyberabad police Commissionerates would be merged and made into four segments representing Hyderabad, Hyderabad South, Secunderabad and Cyberabad.
The four segments will have four different Commissionerates but all of them will work under the direct supervision of the Chief Police Commissionerate of Greater Hyderabad. “The arrangement is being made to project the entire police set up of Greater Hyderabad as a single organization,” Dinesh Reddy said.
Explaining that the decision was taken in the interest of the people to make policing better, the DGP observed that nabbing criminals would become easier once the set up comes into force. (J)
