Chiru still clueless on nomination to RS

Mega star and Tirupati MLA Mr Chiranjeevi told newspersons that he has so far not heard anything from the congress high command about his proposed nomination to the Rajya Sabha in the forthcoming biennial elections.

The actor was responding to queries on his nomination to the Upper House from the state during his brief stopover at Tirupathi this morning. Chiranjeevi later left for Kovur to participate in the Congress campaign for the March 18 by poll.

This is second time in the last two weeks that the mega star expressed his ignorance of the high command’s efforts to send him to the Rajya Sabha. Despite his being clueless on the issue, media continues to project him as one of the probable Congress candidates for biennial polls slated for March 30.

PCC chief Botsa Satyanarayana also announced recently he would support the candidature of Chiru to the Upper House if nominated by the congress high command.

Referring to the Kovur by poll, he said there is a feeling among the people that the by election was unnecessarily imposed on the people of the constituency. (J)
