PCC chief Botsa Satyanarayana said today he would support the candidature of Tirupati MLA Chiranjeevi if he is asked to contest for the Rajya Sabha in the forthcoming biennial elections.
Speaking to media persons in Delhi before leaving for Hyderabad, Botsa said the party high command will shortly finalize the candidates for the Rajya Sabha elections. “What ever decision the party takes, we will abide by it,” he said.
Botsa said the congress party will try to win all the seven seats in the state for which by-polls are being held on March 18. Declaring that both TDP and the YSRCP are enemies of the congress, the PCC chief said TDP will be relegated to the third position in the by polls.
“TDP will not win even a single seat,” he said, adding people would not vote for the TDP as Chandrababu Naidu has destroyed all sectors in the state with his maladministration.
When asked about the Telangana issue, he said the Telangana imbroglio can be solved by the Congress party only. “The congress and the Centre will soon find a solution to the issue after ascertaining the opinions of the people of the two regions,” he said. (J)
