Mr Ali Khan, who worked as PA and close confidant of the mining mafia don and former Karnataka Minister Gali Janardhan Reddy, has been slowly spilling the beans on the properties owned and illegal mining transactions carried out by his former boss in Karnataka.
Both Janardhan Reddy and Ali Khan are presently under the custody of the Bangalore wing of the CBI separately and are being regularly questioned by the CBI sleuths. Surprisingly, Ali Khan has revealed Gali’s properties’ secrets which were hitherto hidden by Gali himself.
Ali Khan revealed that the value of the Gali properties were multiplied by thousand times in the two years after the BJP came to power in Karnataka.
As minister, Gali used to collect monthly Mamools or bribes to the tune of Rs. 100 Cr to Rs.150 Cr from the iron and steel industries and transport companies. Ali Khan told the CBI he looked after these collections.
He informed the CBI that a BJP legislator used to look after the 30 per cent collection of iron ore dug out illegally by various mining firms. Ali Khan also revealed to the CBI that Gali Janardhan Reddy used to send monthly bribes to the tune of Rs.3 to 5 Cr to officials and others to cover up his illegal mining and other activities.
The CBI Bangalore has found huge difference with regard to the properties held by Gali as mentioned in the charge sheet and as revealed by Ali Khan. CBI officials are now planning to visit Rayachur district to identify the new properties held by Gali.
