The Guntur district police today arrested the alleged psycho who has been attacking women in several towns of the district for the last few days.

Reports said the villagers of Pedavadlapudi in Mangalagiri Mandalam caught hold of the psycho when he attacked a woman near the village this afternoon. The woman, who was returning home after finishing her work in a nearby field, was attacked by the psycho.

The villagers came to her rescue after she raised an alarm and beat him black and blue after tying him to a tree. The villagers called police and handed him over to them after he lost consciousness. The police took him to the NRI hospital in Guntur for treatment.

The psycho had attacked several women in Tenali, Bapatla and Mangalagiri towns in the last few days and terrorized the people.

“We will interrogate him when he regains his consciousness,” said police. (J)
