Despite scoring back-to-back duds, Varun Tej's next film Matka is a vintage action drama. Karuna Kumar is the director and the shoot resumed after the budgets are revised. The shoot of Matka is happening in a special set erected in Ramoji Film City and a sizzling number is canned on Varun Tej and Nora Fatehi. Speculations started in Tollywood that the makers are spending a whopping budget of Rs 15 crores for a special Vizag set and the set work is wrapped up. We have learned that the news is fake and the makers are not spending such a whopping amount for the set.The team will reprise the most famous Poorna Market set of Vizag and the initial plans are done.

The makers are spending Rs 3 crores to complete the Poorna market set in Ramoji Film City and a floor is hired recently. The set work will be completed in a month and the filming will be done from the mid of August. Meenakshi Chaudhary is the leading lady and Varun Tej sports a vintage and stylish look for the film. Wyra Entertainments are producing Matka and the film releases next year. Varun Tej lost his market and he decided to cut down his paycheque along with the film's budget. Matka will hit the screens next year.
