Acharya ended up as one of the biggest disasters of Telugu cinema. The theatrical rights of the film are sold for Rs 130 crores and the film hardly made Rs 40 crores. The film's director Koratala Siva handled the business and he even kept a lion's share in the distribution deals. The top director lost more than Rs 60 crores through Acharya. The distributors are demanding a compensation and the makers of Acharya decided to return back a major portion of the losses. Chiranjeevi and Ram Charan already returned back Rs 10 crores from their remuneration for the film.
Chiranjeevi is currently abroad and he will return back next month. There are talks that Chiranjeevi will also return Rs 10 crores more from his remuneration to bear the losses. The entire settlement will be completed this month. Matinee Entertainment, the production house of Acharya is also set to bear the GSTs for the film. Koratala Siva will now take a break and he will rework on the script of his next film that has NTR in the lead role. Ram Charan is currently shooting for Shankar's film in Vizag. Chiranjeevi will join the sets of God Father next month after he returns back from USA.
