Story

Director Srikanth Addala after a debacle, Brahmotsavam, came up with a bold and rustic film, Pedda Kapu 1, may be with the impact of his last remake film Narappa. Pedda Kapu 1 is made with a debut hero, Virat Karrna in the lead role and Srikanth Addala also came up in a new avatar for Pedda Kapu 1. The movie was released today and let us take a complete look at the review.

Story: Pedda Kapu is based on the backdrop of 1980 in a fictional village,(lanka gramalu) in the Rajahmundry region, which is surrounded by religious politics. Peddha Kapu (Virat Karrna) stands against the strong power of the village political leaders Satya Rangayya (Rao Ramesh) and Bhaiyanna (Aadukalam Naren). After NT Rama Rao launched the TDP party in 1982, there seem to have been many dramatic changes in the village. The story is about how Peddha Kapu settles the village issue and what happened to Peddha Kapu's brother, who was arrested and vanished later.

Analysis

The story is very interesting. Srikanth Addala has penned some powerful characters based around the village. Anasuya, Rao Ramesh, Virat Karrna, Bridgada Saga and Pragathi Srivastava are impressive on screen and also got solid roles to perform and they used it as well.

The film is decent, with twists, but Srikanth Addala failed to execute it. Action sequences are a challenge for the maker as they are filled with blood. The establishment of the Telugu Desam Party is nicely projected. There is so much bloodshed, which might irk at times. Pedda Kapu 1 has stunning visuals. Songs failed miserably even the background score.

After seeing two rustic films Rangasthalam and Dasara, Pedda Kapu 1 also comes around the same backdrop, which is a rural setting with a big budget. But fails to create impact like any other rural film.

Performance

Virat Karrna, even though it's his debut film, he is impressive. Rao Ramesh with his expressions, mannerisms and expressions turned as the main asset of the film. After Rangasthalam again in Peddha Kapu 1, Anasuya got a meaty role. The story has created a lot of hype about  Akkamma(Anasuya) and Anasuya carried it so well. Tanikella Bharani will be seen as a drunkard, who will be vexed with politics.

Chota K Naidu’s cinematographer work is the best in recent times. Mickey J. Meyer failed to create any impact on the film.  Rajeev Kanakala and Easwari will be seen as the parents of Peddha Kapu, where they will have no value in the story. Overall everyone has done their part, but writing,music and direction departments failed miserably.
