Analysis
Ranga Ranga Vaibhavanga reminds us of several youthful and family entertainers from Telugu cinema like Nuvve Kavali, Ninne Pelladatha and Nuvvu Leka Nenu Lenu. The first half of Ranga Ranga Vaibhavanga happens on a lighter note and has nothing new. The entertainment at times and the songs are the major USP of the film. The interval episode looks good and decent. Vaisshnav Tej, Ketika Sharma are good on screen and the first half of the film has a decent family drama. But Ranga Ranga Vaibhavanga is quite predictable and happens on a flat note. Vaisshnav and Ketika did their parts well but their chemistry did not work on screen.
The second half of Ranga Ranga Vaibhavanga is a huge letdown because of the predictable narration and forceful drama. The chemistry between the lead actors never worked and the entertainment is pale, and outdated. The visuals are fresh and the production values are grand. DSP’s background score too could not save this boring second half. The film also has a political touch but it was never ended well. The pre-climax episodes make the film clumsy and poor. The film also ends up on a predictable note and offers nothing much. Right from the title to the screenplay and narration, nothing is matching and impressive. The second half of Ranga Ranga Vaibhavanga ends up on a below average note.
Performance
Vaisshnav Tej is good in his role. His screen presence is decent and the actor performed well in the role of Rishi. He was flawless with the comic episodes and full marks for his performance. Ketika Sharma is glamorous and she offers a treat for the youth. She performed well in the role and she is cute as Radha. Naresh and Prabhu have been given prominent roles but they are not written well. The actors are wasted at times. Naveen Chandra gets an important role and he did well in the attempt. Satya has been hilarious in the short role. All the other actors are decent in their assignments.
Ranga Ranga Vaibhavanga has nothing new plot-wise. The screenplay, and narration are pretty old-fashioned and are completely predictable. The dialogues are good at times but not completely impressive. The songs are decent and the background score is pretty average. The cinematography work stands out. Most of the frames look colorful with a bunch of actors. The production values are grand. Director Gireesaaya fails badly in churning out an impressive film given he had all the top actors and technicians. Ranga Ranga Vaibhavanga is a wasted opportunity.
Final Word
Ranga Ranga Vaibhavanga is completely predictable, boring and pale. A film that can be given a skip.
