Analysis
Naandhi is a completely different attempt but the first 40 minutes of the film is entertaining and has an emotional family drama along with a love story. Allari Naresh fits well as a software engineer who values his parents. The film takes a bloody turn after Allari Naresh gets named as the prime accused in the murder case of a social reformer and activist Raja Gopal. The film's mood changes completely and it is hard-hitting, emotional in the last half an hour of the first half. The interval episodes take the film to the next level. On the whole, the first half of Naandhi is completely engaging and promises a thrilling ride in the second half.
Varalaxmi Sarathkumar nails it throughout the second half of Naandhi. The court episodes are the film's major strength. The dialogues and execution take all these episodes to the next level. Allari Naresh is just outstanding throughout as Surya Prakash and his performance in the climax portions will stand out. Praveen has an emotional role and he does his part well. Though the second half of Naandhi is slow-paced, the film will live up the expectations and is an impressive attempt.
Performance
Allari Naresh is just outstanding in his role throughout the film. His gritty, grey shades are well presented on screen. His pain and fight for the real truth is very good. The actor exceeds the expectations in the film. Varalaxmi Sarathkumar is the surprise of the film and she nails the second half with her flawless performance. Devi Prasad as Allari Naresh's father does his role well. Harish Uttaman shines as a corrupted cop and Praveen gets an entertaining role with an emotional touch. Priyadarshi and others did their parts well.
Naandhi has an interesting plot and it is narrated in the most engaging way staying away from unwanted entertainment and songs. The dialogues are good and the emotional episodes are well penned. The narration is hard-hitting and is backed by some packed performances. The cinematography work and the background score are the major pillars of the film. The editing work is ok and the producer spent lavishly on the film. Vijay Kanakamedala steps out with a new attempt and Naandhi is completely engaging to the core.
Final Word
Allari Naresh and Varalaxmi Sarathkumar top the show and Naandhi is a different attempt that leaves the audience in surprise.
