Analysis

MLA Movie Review, Rating, Story, Cast and Crew

MLA has a poorly laced and badly written first half. None of the episodes look natural and they have been poorly presented. The songs are the real speed breakers and they fail to impress the audience. With a series of sub-plots, the real story has been sidelined and the interval episode makes the film interesting though it makes not much impact. Kalyanram looks fit and perfect in the role of Kalyan. On the whole the first half of MLA is a disappointment.

The second half of MLA too has been predictable except couple of emotional episodes. The process of Kalyan turning MLA and winning the hearts of the people of Veerabhadrapuram looks hurried and the songs turn real disturbances. With a predictable and badly penned climax, MLA ends up on a cinematic note. Though the film has a strong social message, it has not been rightly conveyed.

Performance

Kalyanram looks fit and this is his best look till date. The actor has been decent with his performance throughout the movie. Kajal has been top notch and her screen presence has been stunning. Kalyanram and Kajal look stunning on screen. Prudhvi, Posani and Vennela Kishore manage to bring some smiles. Ravi Kishan looks decent as Gaddappa and all the other actors delivered out their best for the movie.

MLA has a predictable plot and it is the screenplay that makes the film clumsy. The dialogues have been well penned and they connect well. The music has been ok and the background score looks decent. The cinematography work and the editing should be appreciated. MLA has grand production values and the guts of the makers should be appreciated. Upendra Madhav sounds good as a writer but makes his directorial debut with a poor and predictable script.

Final Word

MLA is a wakeup call for Kalyanram and it’s high time for the actor to pick up interesting films. The film disappoints because of the predictable plot and the outdated narration.
