Google is working on an artificial intelligence (AI) system that can control a user's web browser to perform specific tasks. According to the report, the new technology, codenamed Project Jarvis, is similar to the Anthropic computer tool released last week. However, the Mountain View-based tech giant's product is intended to focus solely on tasks in the browser and not dominate a user's entire PC. This new feature is scheduled to be released in December alongside the next version of the Gemini AI model. The tech giant is developing new features that will allow users to automate tasks like booking flights and movie tickets online, the Intelligence reported. Based on this description, Google may use Agent AI for this feature. Artificial agent intelligence can be viewed as an artificial intelligence system that is goal-oriented and designed to perform complex tasks in all ways.

Agent AI systems can be used to control specific computing tasks, control self-driving cars and robots, and more. Computer vision can be used to analyze the external environment and special software can be used to perform tasks that mimic key presses, cursor movements, and other actions. Google's AI agent is reportedly called "Project Jarvis", possibly from the comic and media franchise Marvel's J.A.R.V.I.S. (instead of a highly intelligent system) the AI assistant in Iron Man. The technology, along with Gemini's next Large-Scale Language Model (LLM), could come to market as early as December, the report said, citing people familiar with the matter.

This feature is limited to browser usage and allows users to purchase products, book tickets, and fill out forms on e-commerce websites. However, it is unclear whether AI can also take on more complex tasks, such as managing an online investment portfolio or processing transactions via online banking. Details about the privacy and user security of this feature are also unknown. However, these questions could be answered once Google officially announces the feature.
