Scientists have discovered a new planet a little smaller than twice the radius of Earth filled with ocean. The new planet is 245 light years away from Earth and scientists named it TOI-733b. The plant has unique atmospheric features.
Experts say that the new planet might have lost its atmosphere layer or it could be a highly irradiated oceanic world. This update was published in the specialized astronomy journal ‘Astronomy and Astrophysics’. They gave a detailed explanation of the new planet's density.
The new planet has a density of 3.98 grams per cubic centimetre, whereas Earth has 55.51 grams per cubic centimetre. The new planet’s density is higher than the neighbouring planet Mars. They also explained that the planet orbits a star slightly smaller than the Sun and completes its orbit in 4.9 days.
Scientists have two versions on this planet. They consider that the planet as a dry rock devoid of the gaseous layer as it is near to the Sun-like body, which might have evaporated the atmosphere. But they also believe that the whole planet is an oceanic planet. Scientists also predict that TOI-733b is a mini Neptune. Scientists also strongly believe that such types of planets will have extraterrestrial organisms and celestial bodies, which are nothing but aliens.
