If you are not living under a rock, it is possible that you know the levels of risks that our Earth is subjected to. With the polar ends melting and the constant rise in the temperature and the levels of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere, the risks of the doom are very near. But, with the progressing tech giants around, it isn’t surprising at all that the big tech can be the savior that we didn’t even consider in the first place.
But, with some other available options, it isn’t surprising why the tech giants aren’t given the same attention as they should be. They do own the power to cause breakthroughs in reversing climate change, here’s how.
Here’s how the tech giants can bring forth changes that nobody thought was possible.
Being the actual care giver for the climate
The very first and possibly the most important change that one can bring around is by cutting down on the emissions around in the environment. Two of the big tech giants, Google and Microsoft are working hand in hand to bring forth better AI related tools to maximize the oil recovery process through it. It is true that some of the tech giants are finding ways to transform our planet into a resilient one to cut down on the unnecessary greenhouse emissions by around 4% by the end of 2030.
Leveraging social media
We are all hooked to the social media and that is believed to be one of the breakthrough platforms that can bring around change that we didn’t even think was possible. Facebook’s CEO Mark Zuckerberg believes that goal is definitely quite possible if things are done the right way. Several of the social media tools do need specific re-engineering around to help make sense of the world along with the other relevant democratic processes and also develop several communities around the societal goals.
Circular business models
Another effect that the big techs can bring along is with promoting better impacts on the climate change is by adopting the circular business models around that would help in reducing the material use in the process as well. There are actually some of the tech companies that are leading the charge along. One of the biggest tech moguls, Apple has already promised to abide by the much needed circular business models.
Pose reward for the low carbon emission
Carbon emission is the most common factor influencing the issues around. There are several of the e-commerce platforms that can be a contributing factor to the low carbon consumption. Some of the important markers and names involved in this include Ant Forest. Several of the customers contributing to the low carbon emission using this application are rewarded with points which they can later use or the virtual points are later converted into trees being planted.
Switch to digital advertising
Long gone are the days where people relied solely on the traditional form of advertising to get their work done. The same isn’t the case anymore because the tech giants are now promoting better and sustainable form of digital advertising instead of opting for the other mode of advertising around.
It is quite possible for the tech giants to contribute their part to making the world a better place. People are all around struggling with climate crisis and it is high time that the necessary steps are taken to mitigate the changes.
