Dr MM Pallam Raju, the Human resources Development minister for India confirmed that the low-cost tablets, Aakash will continue in the market with more research going into them. He made the comment after there was a rumor that claimed that it could stop production once and for all.

He said that the government has plans to mend the production issues in the fantastic project. The first three iterations have poor reviews online as the government of India is trying to emphasize more research on the low budget tablets. "It is a fantastic initiative... It was successfully tried out and now they are working on the fourth version. We are continuing with the effort," he said.

The $35 dollar tablet is the responsibility of teachers and students in the IIT Bombay. They also have the responsible for the vendor Datawind to follow the terms and conditions to deal with the lack of supply order before March 31 in letter and spirit or else they might have to face the axe. "I think where it is a failure is we could not produce the numbers we wanted for whatever reasons. We will definitely look into it. The research work is going on," Raju said.

If Datawind could have supplied the required numbers after the first iterations at least, he could have secured a lot more projects that emphasize on school learning.
