After starting the World Cup 2023 on a victorious note, Team India recorded their second victory yesterday against Afghanistan. Hashmatullah Shahidi (80), Azmatullah Omarzai (62) and Ibrahim Zadran (22) are the top scorers of the side. Jasprit Bumrah (4/39), Hardik Pandya (2/43) and Shardul Thakur (1/31) took the wickets among the Indian bowlers. Chasing 273 was an easy task for Team India but Rohit Sharma made it more easier.
Rohit Sharma scored 131 in just 84 balls and made India complete the chase in just 35 overs. Virat Kohli (55 not out) and Ishan Kishan (47) supported Rohit Sharma and completed the chase. India lost two wickets in the chase. Rashid Khan (2/57), Naveen-ul-Huq (0/31) and Mohammad Nabi (0/32) are the bowlers for Afghanistan. Rohit Sharma scored his 31st century and he holds the record of scoring a century in just 63 balls in a World Cup. Kapil Dev holds the record in 72 balls and Rohit Sharma broke it. Sachin Tendulkar holds the record of six centuries by an Indian in a World Cup. Now, Rohit Sharma broke the record after he scored his seventh century.
