Chennai Super Kings captain MS Dhoni raises as the highest-paid player in the history of the Indian Premier League (IPL). His revenue generated from the league was over 137 crore rupees. He is followed by Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli on the list.
MS Dhoni is one of the highest-paid players in the history of cricket throughout his international and IPL career, MS Dhoni remains on the top. He was one of the top bracket players in the BCCI’s central contract list and is still the first name on the team sheet when it comes to the Indian Premier League (IPL).
Dhoni led the Indian team to a title victory in the inaugural T20 World Cup in less than a year. He emerged as the top draw in the PIPL auction 2008 and joined the team Chennai Super Kings for 1.5 million USD. Today, even uncapped players earn this or even more amounts of money but Dhoni was known to set a bench mark being bought for a price that no one had imagined.
Dhoni was the captain for the Chennai Super Kings team for a consecutive 3 years. Apart from his success, his popularity grew further more and now he is the highest-paid player in the history of the league.
According to sources, the Chennai Super Kings team has earned a total of 137 crores this year, putting all players amounts together. However, Dhoni himself earned 137 crores this year from the payments made to him as the highest paid member. From 2008 to 2013, he earned 8.2 crores each year. From 2014 onwards, heBCCI raised his first-choice retention fees to 12.5 crores, earning twice the amount he did in the precious years. When he played for the Rising Pune Supergiant’s team, he earned the same amount for two years.
The 137 crores he earned from the IPL team does not include prize money and other cash rewards.
Following behind, Rohit Sharma earned 131 crores in the IPL season followed by Virat Kohli closely behind with 126 crores.
