The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Monday has announced the India team for the International Cricket Council (ICC) World Cup in Mumbai.
While K.L. Rahul, Vijay Shankar, and Dinesh Karthik have found a place among the 15-member squad, wicket-keeper batsman Rishabh Pant, who has been in prolific form and was hailed as MS Dhoni's successor, was not selected for the Indian world cup team.
In the team led by Virat Kohli for the world cup, all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja has been included in the squad, instead of picking a fourth pacer from among Umesh Yadav, Khaleel Ahmed, Ishant Sharma, and Navdeep Saini.
Rohit Sharma has been retained as the vice-captain of the side. Jadeja was competing with another all-rounder Vijay Shankar for a place in the world cup squad and selectors included both.
