India took a 2-0 lead in the five-match test series after beating England by 8 wickets in the third Test in Mohali. India chased down the target 103 for a win with only two wickets down in 20.2 overs.
Wicketkeeper Parthiv Patel remained unbeaten on 67, Virat Kohli congratulates Parthiv, who marked his fifth Test half-century. Earlier, England were bowled out for 236 in their second innings with Joe Root leading the way with a defiant 78. Haseeb Hameed remained unbeaten on 59.
R Ashwin picked up three wickets in the second innings, while Ravindra Jadeja, Mohammed Shami, and Jayant Yadav took two wickets each.
Both teams will travel to Mumbai for the third Test which begins on December 8.
Brief scores: India 417 and 104/2 (Parthiv Patel 67*) beat England 238 all out (Joe Root 78, R Ashwin 3/81) and 283 all out.
