The ICC has confirmed that Salman Butt and Mohammad Asif, Pakistan cricketers, can return back to competitive cricket at both international and domestic levels after the sanctions against these players in spot-fixing ban expire at midnight on 1 September 2015.

According to an ICC release, "Further, Mohammad Amir will be eligible to return to cricket at international level at the same time, following permission being granted to him to return to play domestic cricket in Pakistan earlier this year.”

The players have to fulfill conditions laid out by the independent Anti-Corruption Tribunal to return to competitive cricket, confirmed ICC.

Offences of corrupt behavior

On 5 February 2011, the independent Anti-Corruption Tribunal found three Pakistan players guilty of several offences of corrupt behavior in August 2010 concerning the Lords Test between Pakistan and England. The sanctions on these players have been back dated to 2 September 2010, it was when the players were initially charged and suspended.

After a hearing that went for six days in Qatar, Michael Beloff headed Tribunal imposed a sanction of five years on Amir, seven years on Asif and and 10 years on Butt.
