In The Wolverine, the latest movie in the X-Men series, the 44-year-old Hugh Jackman will be seen as a “silver-clawed, self-healing, century-old mutant”, who is as happy caroling and dancing on the Broadway as battling the Ninjas, slaying a Samurai monster or freeing a Japanese heiress.
The movie opens in U.S. theaters on Friday.
"I am enjoying playing him more than ever. We are focusing on this character and on his journey," said Jackman.
"This is a real, true character story," he added.
This is the second film, after "X-Men Origins: Wolverine" (2009) in the X-Men series that arcs the spotlight on the character of Wolverine.
The first five X-Men movies amassed over $1.89 billion at the global box office.
"Wolverine" is expected to open to a collection of $70 million as per U.S. and Canadian ticket sales.
