Come Friday, and Shruti Hassan's fans will be in for a dual treat.

Two big releases are lined-up for Shruti Hassan this weekend. Both her upcoming films due this Friday — the crime thriller D-Day and rom-com Ramaiya Vastavaiya — will star her in a never-before kind of a way.

While the action flick D-Day, that stars her opposite Bollywood hottie Arjun Rampal, casts her in the role of a Karachi prostitute, Prabhu Deva's Ramaiya Vastavaiya stars the actress in the role of a demure village girl. The film will also launch producer Kumar Taurani's son Girish Kumar.

For an actress like Shruti, who is yet to find her feet in the industry, the two big releases can act as a trump card.  Not only will the two mainstream films help put forward her versatility as an actress, but also fetch her some applause, we hope.
