Living legend Lata Mangeshkar shares a very warm and close relationship with Amitabh Bachchan and wife Jaya. Moreover, Lataji will now be taking their special bonding further when on April 24 on the occasion of her father Pandit Dinanath Mangeshkar's death anniversary, she will honour an award named after her father to Jaya.
According to Lataji, she am very fond of the Bachchans and somewhere she think they too are very fond of her and that they can never say 'no' to her for anything. Considering how busy they are, they have always made time for whatever she has asked them. When she asked Jayaji if she would accept the award on April 24 in her father's memory she immediately agreed.
Fact-fully, Jayaji is a huge Lata devotee and had modelled her character as a singer in Hrishikesh Mukherjee’s Abhimaan on her while Lataji laughs saying "Pataa hai mujhe.
In fact, she would come to her song recordings before she began shooting for Abhimaan while she would wonder why she was staring at her during recordings. When she saw the film she noticed she had finely copied many of her gestures during recording such as the way she adjust her pallu, etc. They have been very close indeed.
Moreover, in the coming months, the ties between Lataji and the Bachchans are bound to be strengthened as Lataji intends to sing some of Big B’s father Harivansh Rai Bachchan's lines.
As a concluding fact, says Lataji, that Harivansh Raiji has always been one of her favourite poets and that it's been her long-standing desire to sing some of his lines.
It's a great moment for Jayaji to receive such an honour from especially the "Melody Queen"
