The electrifying fourth day of India Bridal Fashion Week ended on a high-octane note, with designer Rohit Bal breaking into an impromptu gig with his dazzling showstopper Sonam Kapoor.
The duo apparently shaked their booty to Bollywood cabaret classic “Aa Jaane Jaa” that set the ramp on fire. Even the audience couldn't stop themselves from rooting for some more Bolly-style latkas and jhatkaas.
Quite interestingly, sensuous Bollywood tracks made the high point of Bal's show that displayed Indian-Elizabethan inspired collection.
"During the last song when I looked back and saw Sonam dancing, that was the moment for me. She was dancing like Helen ji. Since the collection was purely Indian I selected some of my favorite Indian songs. All the songs were such where people could relate to them and I feel it's really important to create an ambiance with which people can relate," Bal later said.
Sonam looked drop dead gorgeous in a white-golden mulmul lehenga, inspired by the Mughal bride. Her elegance added to Bal's next collection — 'The Mulmul Masquerade” that had a lot of intricate gold Kasab Kashmiri embroidery odone on chanderi, voils, mulmul and velvet.
"I feel beautiful. Walking the ramp with Rohit in the backdrop of classic songs felt good. There was only one song from Bombay which was contemporary. I always wanted to act in films which had this kind of music. But it was enough for me to walk, listen and be a part of it in some creative way," Sonam said.
