Kamal Haasan's Thoonga Vanam has very little scope for songs just like Papanasam. While Papanasam had two songs, Thoonga Vanam has only one title song, which was sung by the versatile actor himself.

The title song of Thoonga Vanam was recorded by the composer Ghibran in Tamil a month back and is yet to record Telugu version of it as well. Vairamuthu has written this song.

Ghibran, music composer for Thoonga Vanam said that, "This song will be in total contrast to the songs of Uttama Villain and Papanasam. It has a metal base and will be a racy song."

Ghibran is currently working on the background score of Thoonga Vanam, an action thriller directed by Rajesh M Selva. The main shoot of the film starring Kamal Haasan is done. The film which will come out in both Telugu and tamil versions, also stars Trisha, Prakash Raj, Madhu Shalini, Kishore and Asha Sharath in important roles.

Kamal is not new to lending voice for songs in his film. He started it with the movie Andharangam long back in 1975. And he is continuing the recent trend of actors singing for their own films.
