Story
Aval is the story of Krish (Siddarth) who is a nuero surgeon by profession and he stays with his wife Lakshmi (Andrea) across the foothills of Himalayas. Paul (Atul Kulkarni) along with his family moves to his neighbouring house after which they turn good friends. Soon, Paul's daugthers Jenny and Sara experience some horrifying presence in their home. An unexpected incident changes things completely and the rest of Aval is all about the evil force that haunts them. Watch the film to know what and how it happens.
Analysis
The first half of Aval has been filled with fun, romance and entertainment. Things slow change pace and turn horrifying as time passes and the narration has been top notch. The makers managed to pick up the right actors that created massive impact on screen. Thanks to the sound design and the cinematographer, Aval is one film that is high on technical aspects. The first half of Aval sure impresses the audience big time.
The second half of the film too has its moments but the flashback episodes are a huge letdown. The climax is a big letdown as it doesn't bring feel and sound meaningful. However the horrifying episodes have been shot well and the movie manages to thrill the audience thoroughly.
Performance
Siddarth is a show stealer and as expected, he steps out with some top notch performance throughout. Andrea performed far beyond the expectations and is a treat to watch on screen. Atul Kulkarni steps out with one more convincing role and he performed to the core. Anisha Victor is the new find and she impresses the audience. All the other actors have been completely convincing with their assignments.
Aval has been inspired or taken from many horror films. The screenplay and the dialogues look decent. The music and the background score along with the cinematography are the film's major highlights. The production values have been lavish and the film looks colorful. Milind Rau has been completely successful in leaving the audience horrified.
Final Word
Aval is one film that will leave you on the edge of your seats for the most of the time if one ignores the sheer logics. Siddarth and his team performed extremely well and Aval is sure a decent one time watch.
