The gorgeous Jayaprada is a renowned actor in the country, is now a politician of the Samajwadi breakaway group headed by Amar Singh.

Veteran Actor turned politician Jayaprada faced the worst humiliation at the Uttar Pradesh electorate, as her candidate stood sixth in the race after the counting finished last evening. Jayaprada, the former leader of the Samajwadi Party parted ways with the party after her mentor Amar Singh split from the party.  In fact the duo backed a candidate, Reshma Bi in Rampur. But to their dismay the lady finished in the sixth place with a paltry 4,407 votes. Azam Khan won with an impressive 95,772 votes. The Congress came second and the Bahujan Samaj Party third.

Well to force an eventful victory Jayaprada along with her mentor Amar Singh campaigned at the place for days. But unfortunately the duo was thoroughly washed away by the SP Cyclone say political critics. Jayaprada is well known in the south as an actor and in particular as a politician representing the Telugu Desam Party. After being encouraged by the party founder NTR, she took an active part. But later due to her differences with the change in guard after the demise of the veteran, she was literally out of reckoning. The actor, who moved to the north, blamed the then head of TDP, N Chandrababu Naidu for her exit.  She is also remembered to have quoted the Praja Rajyam Leader K Chiranjeevi as a novice and failure in politics.
