The US consulate in India is opening new visa interview slots for students who are looking for higher studies in the USA. Last year 1.25L students from India travelled to the USA for higher education, this year the number is expected to be more.

Thousands of additional slots have been opened for June and July, said Brendan Mullarkey, Minister Counselor for Consular Affairs at the US Embassy, New Delhi. Mr Mullarkey explained that students do not need to work with an agent to book a student visa appointment slot and also asked students to be familiar with the content of the application and the student himself is responsible for the information contained in the application. He also said that more students are from India, that is one out of five are Indian students in the USA.

US consulates in Mumbai, New Delhi, Kolkata, Chennai and Hyderabad will be open for students very soon. To book an appointment visit ustraveldocs.com, tweeted US Embassy India. They wrote, Visa Update- “Student visa appointments are now open for mid-July to mid-August across India. Visit http://ustraveldocs.com to book your appointment today.” Starting from 30th May 2023, the visa fee has been hiked from $160 to $185, approx 15,300 Rs.
