A psychopath serial killer, Collins Jumaisi Khalusha, who killed at least 42 women escaped from the jail in Nairobi. On Tuesday Kenya police made it official that Collins escaped from the jail by breaching a wire mesh in their cells, along with him, 12 others also managed to escape. According to Kenya police, the incident was identified only when the in-charge police officers on Tuesday morning arrived to serve breakfast to the prisoners. This is a huge embarrassment to the Kenyan police. However, they have detained eight officers for alleged connection with the escape of the 13 individuals from the jail. All the suspended officers were delivering their duties at the time of the escape and Inspector General of Police Gilbery Masengeli stated that all the police were involved in the escape plan.
According to a preliminary investigation. The escape was aided by the insiders or active police officers who were on duty. Five out of eight officers have been arrested and presented before the court on Wednesday. The court has ordered to detain them for 14 days to complete the investigation. Only after opening the prison door, they realized that the prisoners escaped from jail at around 5 AM. The 12 others who escaped were arrested for being in Kenya illegally. The police station is located in the Gigiri district, just near to the regional headquarters of the United Nations. Jumaisi has already claimed that he is involved in molesting and torturing women. Sadly this is the second time a high-profile case suspect has escaped from jail in six months.
Kenyan national Kevin Kangethe was the first one to flee from jail in February. He was accused of killing his girlfriend in the United States last year. He left her body in the airport car park. He was caught a week later and a Kenya court judge has ordered officials to send him back to the USA.
